Qualities a Researcher must develop
Introduction
This article is on the qualities a researcher must develop to outwit over time and these qualities when they are not developed over time will lead to quitting.
Qualities to develop
Patience- How can you develop it?
Engage in daily routine I.e., prepare a schedule and follow. It takes time but over time you can see your improvement.
Listening
It is one of the skills you need to excel. A good listener can only become a good speaker. Patiently listen to people before you respond I.e., do not interrupt while someone speaks. Listen to their entire conversation example- Take notes during lecture and self-analyze yourself and ask doubts still if you were not able to find a solution. This habit will surely improve your listening skill.
Reading
Do not restrict yourself to your own subject materials. Try to get involved and create interest in other subjects. Try to become a voracious reader who will make you think outside of the box and might make you a scientist, entrepreneur etc.,
Writing
If you have excelled as a good listener and reader automatically you will become a good writer. Academic writing is entirely different from formal writing. So, this topic we would have to discuss in one separate article.
Presentation
This skill gets developed only with more practice I.e., more chances you get more you become better. So, try not to miss an opportunity to present when you get one. Will discuss this topic along with academic writing in one separate article.
Conclusion
Now you feel that if I master all the above, I will become a good researcher. The answer is a big “NO.” Consistency, arduous work, and the essence of luck is also needed. Consistency and hard work should be developed by you and luck that is not in your hands but over time for your effort things will fall in places and that can be called “luck.”
